AlNiCo Magnets
The alloy of iron with aluminum, nickel, and cobalt as well as copper can be used at temperatures from -270°C to 500°C and is resistant to most acids. Many versions of AlNiCo magnets are available from masetec.
Areas of application
Position Control, Contactless Switching
All Advantages at a Glance
High Temperature Resistance:
Resistant up to 500°C, ideal for high-temperature applications.
Corrosion Resistance:
No additional coating required, durable in various environments.
Shape Diversity Through Casting:
AlNiCo magnets are usually cast, enabling complex shapes.
High Flux Density:
Strong magnetic fields for precise technical applications.
Caution with SmCo Magnets
Low Coercivity:
Low resistance to external magnetic fields, easily remagnetized.
Difficult Machining:
Due to high hardness, can only be shaped by grinding.
Easily Demagnetized:
Sensitive to strong opposing fields or shocks.
Applications of AlNiCo Magnets
Especially where high temperature fluctuations occur or where magnets must withstand the influence of acids or corrosion, the use of AlNiCo magnets is advantageous. Examples of their use include measuring instruments, sensors, electric motors, or loudspeakers.
Structure of AlNiCo Magnets
In addition to the basic materials aluminum, nickel, and cobalt, AlNiCo magnets can contain iron, copper, or titanium as needed.
Production of AlNiCo Magnets
AlNiCo magnets are sintered or cast. In the casting process, the components are melted and poured into molds. In the sintering process, the materials are pulverized, pressed under high pressure, and sintered under vacuum or protective gas.
Coatings on AlNiCo Magnets
Because AlNiCo magnets are extremely corrosion-resistant and acid-resistant, they do not require any coating.
